Legacy Students
2nd and 3rd Generation Legacy Students
The school of the Cathedral of Christ the King was founded in September 1937, for the purpose of providing quality education in a Catholic environment. The school program was administered by the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart, and their philosophy of education continues to permeate the school program.

Christ the King School is accredited by and meets the standards of the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The school holds membership in: National Catholic Educational Association, Georgia Independent School Association, Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools (AAAIS), National Association of Secondary Schools, National Association of Elementary School Principals, and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.

Admissions Policy
Christ the King School shall admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the corporation's school. Christ the King School shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in the administration of its education, policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other administered programs.

Priority of Acceptance
A) All currently enrolled students who have re-registered by the due date, unless the school has determined that the child may not return for the following year. The school reserves the right to reconsider and retract renewal of admission after the due date if, between the date of re-registration and the beginning of the following school year, situations are discovered which are in serious violation of school policies and which, had they occurred or been discovered earlier, would have led to the student not receiving re-registration forms.

B) Catholic students whose Catholic siblings are currently enrolled in the school.

C)  1. Students from the host parish
      2. Catholic students from parishes in the Archdiocese without a Catholic school.

D) Catholic students transferring from an out of town Catholic School.

E) Catholic students from parishes with a Catholic School

F) Catholic students from other Catholic Schools.

G) Students of other religious affiliations

Unusual circumstances not covered by the previous priorities shall be at the discretion of the principal or designee.

Enrollment and Class Size
Christ the King School provides classes at the following levels: Kindergarten, Pre-first and grades one through eight. The target class size for K-6 is 22. Exceptional circumstances may necessitate an increase or decrease in the class size. Grades seven and eight may exceed 22 per class.

Admissions Timeline
Our Fall Open House is the beginning of the admissions process. Open House provides the opportunity for applicants and their families to tour our campus, visit our classrooms, meet with teachers, hear from our Principal, meet some of our students and enjoy refreshments.

Prospective Parent Coffees are held in January. These small group coffees allow parents of rising kindergarten students to hear presentations from our kindergarten teachers, ask questions and visit the kindergarten students in action.

The deadline to submit an application is February 1 annually. Applications received after the deadline are handled on an individual basis and are reviewed when they are complete.

Testing of all applicants is held in February. A screening is required for all applicants as part of the admissions process but does not guarantee acceptance. Screening tests are one means of determining if a child will meet with academic success at Christ the King School.

Decision letters are mailed the first Friday of April in accordance with AAAIS guidelines.
